Magenta Data AB was founded in 1983 and has had its present alignment - accounting software for PC - since 1987 when Magenta Fakturering (a program for orders and invoices with account receivable ledger) for DOS was released.

Magenta-F was soon appreciated for its functions and refinements, for instance "smart typing" and editable invoice layouts, in combination with easily understandable screens and tasteful design.

In 1990 the program was followed by Magenta-B (bookkeeping) and in 1991 by Magenta-L 1991 (accounts payable ledger).

A series of add-on modules were developed which made the system versatile and adaptable to a wide range of environments.

The system can be used as a cash register system by using the add-on module "Casablanca" with some attached hardware (one or more sets of a cash drawer in combination with a receipt printer of your choice). This hardware can be bought directly from us together with the software.

Over the years, Magenta has received many distinctions in the press. As early as in the beginning of the 90's the software was appointed "Product of the Year", in the category "Administrative software" by the Swedish magazine "Mikrodatorn".

The entire system was appointed "Best buy, Administrative software for workgroups" in "Mikrodatorn" no 9/1994. Our software also got very good judgements in "Mikrodatorn" no 3/1997, "PC&Mac Magazine" no 3/1997 and "PC Extra" no 5/1998 (all Swedish magazines). Magenta also got great recommendations in "Dator Magazin" no 4/2001 and "Commerce" no 2/2001.

During all this time, we have kept on developing and refining the programs. Since the first version of Magenta Fakturering under DOS until today's state-of-the-art Windows versions, the end user always has been in the center of our concern.

All our software is in Swedish with the exception of Magenta Fakturering which, a long with Swedish, can print invoices in English, German, French and Finnish.
